Latvian airline airBaltic will start direct flights between Oulu and Riga on 29 March 2026, operating five days a week. The new connection will improve accessibility in Northern Finland and bring tourists easily to Oulu, the European Capital of Culture in 2026.

Oulu 2026 invites you - direct flights make it easier to reach the Capital of Culture
The new connection will provide Oulu residents and the whole of Northern Finland with smoother connections to Europe, as Riga Airport serves as a major hub to hundreds of destinations. The route will also open up new opportunities for businesses in the region and strengthen Oulu's international accessibility.
At the same time, it brings tourists directly to Oulu, the European Capital of Culture 2026 - in the middle of northern nature, events and experiences.
